The Path in Shojo Beat!

A little write-up of our game-in-progress appears in the May 2008 issue of Shojo Beat (sister publication of Shonen Jump) manga magazine. Fun magazine! Pleased they found us attractive enough to feature. If you like girls with BIG eyes, this month, in addition to keeping up with “Vampire Knight Blood Lust” you can keep up with us as well. (^__^)

  1. Congrats on making it into the magazine.

    I may have to get an issue of it now. 😛

  2. Just to avoid confusion, the vampire-related comic currently serialised in Shôjo Beat is simply titled ‘Vampire Knight’ (I’m guessing the ‘Blood Lust’ suffix is either the name of a chapter or arouse from confusion with ‘Vampire Hunter D,’ which is a light novel and not shôjo.

    Secondly, Shôjo Beat only exists as sister publication to Shônen Jump in North America – unlike that, it’s an original creation of the US publisher and not a domestic version of a Japanese original (though, saying that, almost all the series in it are from ‘Hana to Yume’ – I’ve wondered once or twice why they didn’t just call it that; I suppose it’s a combination of a catchier name and a bit of flexibility).

    Lastly, there doesn’t seem to be anything much in the way of big-eye fetish series currently being serialised in it. If that’s what you wanted, then surely you’d be spending your money on some moe franchise like ‘Kanon’ or ‘Clannad’ or, in terms of shôjo, ‘Cardcaptor Sakura’ or ‘Pichi Pichi Pitch.’ You don’t know what “BIG” eyes are until you’ve seen Pichi Pichi Pitch. 😉

    (I also apologise to fellow Cardcaptor Sakura fans for mentioning its name amongst those other, less reputable series. But it does it does have – justifiably – pretty big eyes for its main protagonists, at least when compared to nose size.)

  3. haha you know waay more about this than we do! While it’s pretty obvious that Shojo Beat is english language, (and it is a sister publication to english language Shonen Jump, also obvious) the rest is, um, not so obvious at all. So, thank you for the info! And the eyes are all looking VERY BIG to us, i’m a bit scared to find out how much bigger they can get ^^;
