Would love to know more about what happened at this event. More photos, quotes… video! would be nice.

Snake vs. Zombie – 1up article

On Saturday, gamers were treated to an entire event hosted by Grasshopper Manufacture titled Snake vs Zombie Vol. 2, featuring a series of talk shows between famous game creators and musical performances from artists such as Norihiko Hibino (Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops) and Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill). Metal Gear Solid director Hideo Kojima, Lumines producer Tetsuya Mizuguchi, Shadow of the Colossus director Fumito Ueda, and Resident Evil 4 director Shinji Mikami took part in the presentations.

  1. Kojima’s idea for Resident Evil Online sounds excellent!

“The player is a zombie hunter and enters a town infested with zombies. When you die, you turn into a zombie and you start to walk aimlessly, unable to control your character — just the camera. But, you will still pay for your monthly subscription! So you decide to create a second account, but you die again, and now you’ve got two zombies! Finally, you tell your friend where you are and beg to have him kill you!”

Why spawn monsters when you have players dying all around you? If we’re going to die in games, we might as well do something with all those corpses! 😀

  2. that really does sound awesome! my only worry is the monthly subscription part, i just don’t like the concept of paying a monthly fee for a game. I’m sure they can come up with an other way to punish your death. (but maybe they don’t want to)

  3. I don’t like paying for anything. ;[

But if it helps people make nice entertainment for me, I don’t mind at all. Or food. Or clothes…

I only wish all of my money could go to the people who actually make all of those things (rather than to the army of middle men).
