You can now pre-order The Path Soundtrack CD! Or choose the absolutely beautiful CD + T-Shirt package. All created by our friends at UK based label Paradigms Recordings.
The CD is a limited edition digipak. Only 500 have been printed. Paradigms will be shipping the pre-orders at the beginning of May.

The result is one hour of truly mesmerizing, disturbing, blackened fairy tale sonics. From delicate songwriting to Jarboe’s demonic, possessed rasp all wrapped up in dense, claustrophobic atmospheres and harrowing stories, this is some of the most potent work from these two distinguished artists.

Today Russia’s biggest games publisher 1C has released the Russian version of The Path -or Тропа– in stores in Russia, Belarus, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldavia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan as well as online.
This is the second retail release of a Tale of Tales (the first one being the Polish translation by Topware, currently available as a special signed edition from our store.

Поступил в продажу уникальный арт-проект бельгийской студии Tale of Tales «Тропа. Страшная сказка» (оригинальное название — The Path). В отечественном издании этот необычный квест представлен на русском языке.
В цифровом магазине online.1c.ru можно приобрести электронную версию игры.
«Короткая игра ужасов» — именно так «Тропа. Страшная сказка» определяется своими авторами — создана по мотивам сказки «Красная Шапочка». Разработчики проекта рассматривают свое произведение, прежде всего, как опыт поиска, открытия, самоанализа, погружение в глубины подсознания, где скрыты сокровенные страхи и желания человека, а посему призывают играющего приготовиться к неторопливому действию. Выбор одной из шести девочек-героинь разного возраста с абсолютно разными характерами определит, в каком ключе будет развиваться хорошо знакомая история.
Взаимодействие с каждым объектом в виртуальном лесу является частью повествования. Здесь нет монстров, с которыми надо сражаться, заданий на скорость реакции или же сложных головоломок, решение которых позволяет продвигаться по сюжетной ветке, зато существует множество поводов включить собственное воображение и стать полноправным соавтором разворачивающегося действа — странного, тревожного и невероятно грустного.
The Path Mac USB Deluxe Edition! Extra goodies and such, just like the PC version (which, by popular demand, we also have back in stock!), but custom made for Mac. You can’t play the early demos of the game on your Mac, for example, but we will make a few videos of the highlights so you don’t need Bootcamp to laugh at our girls’ first awkward steps. On the other hand, we’ll be putting some things on there just for Mac users… I’l try to get creative.
So, another milestone reached in The Path project. This really means that the work has only just begun. Now we can get to patching the Windows version of the game. Including fixes for problems that were reported on the forums. Solutions were found during the making of the Mac version. But, I’m sure you Mac folk will keep us busy too. All steps on the road to perfection, which is always a few kilometers further away than we hoped. Enjoy the game!
Now that we’re back and settling down, we’re making plans on how best to support The Path now it’s released. Putting plans into ACTION! For one thing, we’ve created an official group on Steam for the game. Behold!
There seems to be some interesting features to the Group… Like seeing how many are playing. That’s nice, like playing the game all together as a big community. And there’s a chat room too, though that scares me.
We will use the group to keep Steam players informed about news and updates and such… And who knows what THAT may lead to… o_0b
Anyway, I hope all of you Steam players (and you know who you are) will come join the group and let’s see what that does, eh.
All orders bought on or before April 1st through the Tale of Tales store have been mailed out, just now, by us. And we will be mailing things out weekly from now on.

We landed in San Francisco just a few short hours ago. We got to the hotel and hour before the planned 9pm launch time and spent the last 15 minutes staring at the clock. Time seemed to go so much slower while we were waiting!
This journal chronicles the making of The Path, a single player horror game developed by Tale of Tales, the game was released in March 2009 and can be downloaded via this website! Contributors to this journal are the game’s main creators Auriea Harvey and Michaël Samyn.
