Prologue: free new chapter

June 7th, 2009 by Michael

Or trial. Or demo. Finally you can try before you buy! Except this demo contains things that don’t happen in the full game… or rather, things happen differently. Maybe you will like to see it even if you’ve already played The Path.

The Path for Mac is NOW available!

May 7th, 2009 by Auriea

Tale of Tales is proud to announce that The Path is ALIVE on Mac OSX from this day forward!

Thanks to the lovely people over at Transgaming who, with their voodoo powers, helped us to create The Path for a new platform!

In other news of things good:
http://store.tale-of-tales.com has been refreshed and rebooted with a new product:

The Path Mac USB Deluxe Edition! Extra goodies and such, just like the PC version (which, by popular demand, we also have back in stock!), but custom made for Mac. You can’t play the early demos of the game on your Mac, for example, but we will make a few videos of the highlights so you don’t need Bootcamp to laugh at our girls’ first awkward steps. On the other hand, we’ll be putting some things on there just for Mac users… I’l try to get creative.

So, another milestone reached in The Path project. This really means that the work has only just begun. Now we can get to patching the Windows version of the game. Including fixes for problems that were reported on the forums. Solutions were found during the making of the Mac version. But, I’m sure you Mac folk will keep us busy too. All steps on the road to perfection, which is always a few kilometers further away than we hoped. Enjoy the game!

oh but, ONE MORE THING! 😀
I made some new desktop wallpapers for you…

They’re based on the pages at the Grandmother’s House site. Hope you like them!

Story Trailer

May 7th, 2009 by Michael

This is our attempt at making a more traditional game trailer. I know: fail. 🙂 But we can try, can’t we? 😉

There’s surprise at the end for certain people who haven’t been able to play The Path yet…

The Path is one month old!

April 18th, 2009 by Michael

It will be one month today since the launch of The Path.

The release itself was a celebration of our collaboration. It happened exactly 10 years after we met in person for the first time and launched our first collaborative project. And we launched The Path from a room in the same hotel in San Francisco (which in and of itself, spontaneously, turned into a sort of a re-enactment of something that happened -almost exactly- 40 years ago; it’s a small world).

Sorry, we’re kind of big on anniversaries around here. And small on coincidence.

To celebrate our little baby of one month, we will be staging an ABIOGENESIS festival in The Endless Forest at 9 PM, Belgian time. See you on Twin Gods Hill!

After which The Path will be offered exclusively to registered players of The Endless Forest for the anti-price of 6.66, the opposite of its normal price of 9.99 (keep an eye on incoming email!).

Video review by GameCorner.pl and Fan Video extravaganza!

April 9th, 2009 by Auriea

BOTH OF THESE VIDEOS CONTAIN SPOILERS!!!! you have been warned!

love this. its a review of the game. in polish. may show you more than you want revealed if you plan on playing the game fresh. it is very well done and worth watching. They also did quite an extensive looking write up of the game.

“lenki?”

meanwhile…

Looks like someone put a lot of love and a lot of time into making that video. Thanks a million Lainy, its beautiful!

The Path Group on Steam

April 3rd, 2009 by Auriea

Now that we’re back and settling down, we’re making plans on how best to support The Path now it’s released. Putting plans into ACTION! For one thing, we’ve created an official group on Steam for the game. Behold!

The direct url is: http://steamcommunity.com/games/ThePath

There seems to be some interesting features to the Group… Like seeing how many are playing. That’s nice, like playing the game all together as a big community. And there’s a chat room too, though that scares me.

We will use the group to keep Steam players informed about news and updates and such… And who knows what THAT may lead to… o_0b

Anyway, I hope all of you Steam players (and you know who you are) will come join the group and let’s see what that does, eh.

(ToT) Store Orders Sent!

April 2nd, 2009 by Auriea

It has begun.

All orders bought on or before April 1st through the Tale of Tales store have been mailed out, just now, by us. And we will be mailing things out weekly from now on.

Big THANK YOU to everyone who ordered! We packaged everything up nice :). While we were doing it we had a thought… Why don’t we sign the posters? so we did. Hope you like that. Since you didn’t know, we kept it simple.

AND
this got us thinking… “Why don’t we have a Poster Sale?”
So we are!
Every month we will discount 2 of the girl posters and send them to you signed, in silver ink. Trust us, its pretty, i’ll draw a little pictogram on there, just for you. 😉

The entire month of April Robin and Rose can be yours for the lowered cost of €18. 😀

ALSO
The USB sticks are going fast! If you have an interest in seeing work in progress outtakes from The Path and the (in)famous early interactive demo with a dance-off between Ruby and Charming Wolf, I suggest you go for it now. 😉
