I know real time 3D is a complete and utter illusion but it is hard to remember that when you're making stuff. And to keep this in mind is important since I have discovered that the things that work best, are often the more stylized, abstract things. Realism is an easy trap to fall into. But carefully constructed fictions work much better in games. They can carry more narrative weight and they are often much prettier. Things need to feel right, rather than look right. Those things often take a lot less time to develop and have greater impact.

i need to remember this too. it is easy, while working, to really focus in on details... but those deatils are something that no one will really ever see. it is the total view we have to work on and keep in mind.
