LOVE the color scheme! for some reason it looks odd. maybe because it is so well thought out/harmonious.
and the slight stylization fo the models isvery apropriate, sculptural, beautiful.
reminds me of illustrations in old national geographic magazines Smile

Not a game but a movie (made by Michel Ocelet, who made Kiriku). So they get to cheat.
But still a very interesting and different aesthetic use of 3D. And oddly similar to what we were going for in 8.

Official site of the movie: http://www.azuretasmar-lefilm.com/demo.html
More pictures here.

I know this is kind of irrelevant, but Bj÷rk wanted Michael to turn Kirikou into a twenty-year old for the video of her song from Volta, Earth Intruders.

I have Fatal Frame 1 & 2!

They're very good games, but very creepy. If you have vibrate on, then the gamepad mimics the rhythm of your character's heartbeat..

It scared the living daylights out of me..

Shadow of the colossus and Ico

Made by the best artistic team I've ever laid eyes on.

I guess they are dead to me now though, becasue I refuse to buy a ps3 and I have no hope of their next game coming out on any other console.

Okami is an incredibly beautiful game that does not have that "trying to be real" sense.

I would bring up the first Tomb Raider, but it may seem a bit outdated for most. It was pretty awesome for its time, though.

Then there's Sacrifice. It was not marketed well enough, IMO. I thought it had a lot of potential. I was such a Stratos nut.

I totally agree! Tomb Raider 1 is an aesthetic masterpiece. It may seem outdated now because the technology is in so much flux. But once that settles, I think we will be able to recognize its value.

You haven't seen the film, have you? You should. You're still in for a surprise. Wink

Regardless to the quality, or age, of the games here is a list that visualy do it for me.

The Dark Eye - (there is just some thing about claymation and Poe that makes this a perfect combination) http://uk.gamespot.com/pc/adventure/darkeye/images.html?om_act=convert&om_clk=gsimage&tag=images;img;1#

The Last Express - (such a lush visual setup really makes this one stand out, even after more than 10 years) http://uk.gamespot.com/pc/adventure/lastexpress/images.html?tag=tabs;images

XIII - (comic style graphics with little pop up action moves) http://uk.gamespot.com/pc/action/xiii/images.html?tag=tabs;images

Evidence The Last Ritual - (this one really hits the spot for me. Creepy as hell) http://uk.gamespot.com/pc/adventure/evidence/images.html?tag=tabs;images

Fable - ( over-the-top cartoony style visuals add to the fun feel of the game) http://uk.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/fablethelostchapters/images.html?tag=tabs;images

A few more

Another world - (The visuals are so simple and elegent) http://www.mobygames.com/game/out-of-this-world/screenshots

Syberia - (you can tell alot of work went into this) http://www.mobygames.com/game/windows/syberia/screenshots

Bad Mojo - (so wonderfully gritty; a joy to look at) http://uk.gamespot.com/pc/adventure/badmojo/images.html?om_act=convert&om_clk=gsimage&tag=images;header;more

Tron 2.0 - (A gimmicky concept and a strain on the eyes but nonetheless I like it) http://uk.gamespot.com/pc/action/tron20/images.html?om_act=convert&om_clk=gsimage&tag=images;header;more

Blade Runner - (captures the feel of the PKD world and the film nicely. Lovely neon signs against a backdrop of shabby earth tones) http://www.mobygames.com/game/windows/blade-runner/screenshots
