We have started prototyping a new project based on the story of 8. It's called The Book of 8. You can follow our Tumblr stream about the project here. It's simply a place where we post reference materials or things that come up during the design thought process.
The Book of 8 is a much smaller project than 8 was intended to be. We always wanted to do something with the story of 8. But the climate in the games industry hasn't really improved in all these years, in terms of funding larger experimental projects. Luckily, in the mean time, we have found a way to fund mid-sized projects independently. So maybe we can repeat the success of The Path -albeit with a completely different game.
First things first, though. We have just started a long process of research, design and prototyping. This initial process will take until deep into 2011. And only after that can we start actual production. So don't hold your breath just yet. These things take time. |

I was thrilled when I saw this as a work in progress on the main page. Even if it takes a year or more before it's near completion...well, from what I've seen, a good chunk of your fans also appreciate the typical videogame, so we're used to waiting years for something to come out. Not going anywhere.  |

Wow... I always wonder how you get your inspiration. I will totally buy 8 when it will be done. <3 Also I will 'watch' this blog. I am working on a a little bit 8-inspired piece at the moment anyway but not with the deaf-mute girl as character but my own. Someday I will do a real fanart.
Oh, and I love how many Prince of Persia images you have posted.  PoP is one of my all time favourites and I am enamoured with oriental-like games. |

I was so terribly disappointed when I just read that 8 isn't going to happen, not anytime soon anyway. It's disgusting that our modern day gamers- well, not just gamers, but our people will shove aside such an orginal master piece of a game and insist that game developers fart out brainless FPS like Call of Duty and all that nonsense. I'm a gamer for story, and character, and interaction. I'm a big fan of Ico and such. Also, you mentioned in another topic (I think) that one way people could help you is by buying The Path?
Unfortunately, I don't have an income at the moment- due to stingy parents, a lack of part time job, and being sixteen. However, I do have a very, VERY smalltime comic I make with a 3D program, since I have no art skills. Would it help at all if I developed a page to promoting The Path? Only with your permission, of course. My intention is to help, because you develope a very special brand of games. Thanks for reading. =) |

| Please do promote our work in any way that you can. It does really help! We have no marketing budget. We rely completely on word of mouth. And indeed: at the moment, any money that comes in from sales of The Path, The Graveyard and Fatale goes straight into development of The Book of 8. |
