First please forgive my very bad english, I know I don't speak very fluently...

My problem is that the character of the game cannot walk, walk backwards or turn. When I try to make her walk, she gets animated, but she stays at the same place.

Can you help me ?

P.S: I play the game through Steam

How strange. Are you sure there is no other input device interfering? (disconnect joysticks)

Have you tried changing the controls in the "Input" tab of the window you see before the game starts?

Do you have a joystick? The game can be controlled with a joystick as well.

Thank you for your answer.

Yes I have tried changing the controls.

I don't have any jostick and there is nothing which could interfering with the game... My keyboard and my mouse work.

Yes, I have exactly the same problem! I downloaded the demo-game, and when I couldn't play it, I tried to close it, but it froze. Had to run System Restore, which removed the game, so I shall try it all again from the beginning; this time I shall take more notice of the settings before starting to play, and make sure they are configured for keyboard. Will post details, if its successful.

More importantly, Thank you a million times, Auriea and Michael, for the wonderful The Path and The Endless Forest (I like to imagine the Red Riding Hoods reincarnate into deers, and the Endless Forest is their Heaven). I want to go there when I die...

You're welcome. Smile Glad to hear you're enjoying our work.

As for The Graveyard, are both of you on Windows, using Steam?

Yes, I am on Windows Vista (32),and I downloaded The Graveyard, although I can't be sure if the download came from Steam's site, but I think it did. P.S. Thank you for the prompt reply to my first post; much appreciated. Smile

I have now downloaded and installed The Graveyard from PixelRage, FileFront, AtomicGamer, GamersHell and Wired/Gamelife(Steam). They all suffer exactly the same problem; that the old lady walks on-the-spot, and the only way to exit the game is to press the Windows Key and return to the desktop.

I now suspect the fault lies with either Vista (32 bit), or (more probably?), with the Nvidia GeForce graphics card supplied for lap-tops/notebooks. Confused

Thanks for testing this and for the information.

I was thinking, might this have something to do with the settings in Vista for the handicapped? You know how Windows pops up a warning box if you press a certain key for too long? Maybe you turned something off or on in the accessibility features?

Have any of you tried a joystick to control the game?

Do you mean "Sticky Keys"? Yes, I have seen the occasional pop-up window asking if I wanted to assign an action to a certain key, or combi-keys, and I pressed No. But I can't recall seeing it during "The Graveyard". Anyway, wouldn't this also affect other games in the same way? I've not had problems with any. Yes, I've tried using my joy-stick, but got the same on-the-spot walking action as using the keyboard.

In the Properties box, I ticked "unblock" where it mentioned the file may have been blocked as it came from another computer; and I also ticked "play as administrator".

I also downloaded "The Endless Forest" and "The Path Prologue" the same week as "The Graveyard", and I've had no problems with either of them; but I shall certainly be delving into the accessibilities menu, and I shall get back to you on that. Meantime, thank you for your help and suggestions. Smile

Thanks for testing and sharing this information.

The Endless Forest and The Path are made with a different engine.

Fatale is made with the same engine as The Graveyard. But we haven't heard of any technical control issues with it.

I have checked all recommended possibilities, but couldn't find anything which might be preventing the game from starting. As I have virtually no computer-knowledge, I shall have to accept defeat for now, and try again sometime in the future.

Thank you for your advice, etc. I'm off to the Forest! Smile

Could it be the solution? I'm going to try it!

EDIT: Fantastic! It works! I have been silly to post a new topic whereas there was the answer in another page...

Thank you for your replies and enjoy the game Smile

P.S.: For information the game launcher is in C:\Steam\steamapps\common\the graveyard Wink
