My computer does the same exact thing. Seems to switch video modes, then PathViewer.exe comes up with an error.

After I deleted the Preferences.cgr file as suggested in the other thread, the game comes up in a windowed mode with no sound. However, once I selected a girl (Ginger), the game simply quit with no message of any kind.

Trying to install the Visual C++ failed. (!) The installer just froze up on me. After waiting a few minutes, I'm still looking at an hourglass.

Have you tried running the game with only one monitor enabled?

You do have the latest drivers for your videocard, don't you?

Of course I do.

But I found out something: if I disable my soundcard, the game will get past the initial loading then fade to black and get a pathview.exe error.

You did restore the preferences file, didn't you?

This sounds like a memory problem. Are you running any other memory-intensive programs? Or is your hard dsik too full and/or fragmented?

The game loads about 600 to 800 MB of data into memory during the titles.

Perhaps you could run it in a window and check in the Windows Task Manager to see what's happening with the RAM.

All memory intense programs killed. 90 gigs free on hd and fully defraged.
The game uses 78.528 k before it freezes.

I'm running it on a GeForce 9400 GT (512 Mb VM) with 3.5Gb RAM. I've tried a ton of stuff to get this to work. The closest I've gotten was running it through Wine in Ubuntu. I got it to say ".Saving." then switch back to "...Loading..." and after about 5 minutes of loading I gave up and booted XP back up.

I updated my drivers, changed my resolution, ran it in every compatibility mode on here and am currently trying to install it on my laptop to see if it works on there.

It worked on my laptop. It looks to be a problem rooted in Quest3d since I can't get any of their demos to work on my pc.

Same here. After few time, screen come black. Need to reboot the computer. I have 4GB of ram, with win xp 32bit. a Geforce 8800 GT and all latest drivers.
I guess the graphique card crash, because my screen told me, "no signal". The sound in background still playing, but after few sec, it crash into an horrible loop

I've found the evil-doer it was my graphical-tablet driver.
The Game runs perfectly now.
