I live in Phase II. It's cozy and there aren't any zombies. ^_^ And I get to see stuff you rarely see in Phase III, like all-black elaphanthropoids and the Invisible Ones.

Phase 2 is quite fun in its own way. I just wish it would let me play it in a window instead of full-screen as that makes my computer wonky.

And what is the story behind the cage in the ruins? I'm glad to know the story behind the mushroom circles now. Smile

During Phase One (I think) there was a deer who logged in every day at the same time, just to stand in the middle of the ruins, never moving, never interacting. So the Twin Gods dropped a cage over it, trying to elicit a reaction.

It didn't notice. Neutral

Edit: Bah, it couldn't had been Phase One, the ruins didn't exist then.

Wow. Genius Razz

I think there was a deer standing there for days on-end without moving, so the Twin Gods decided to drop a cage on it. It still didn't move.
EDIT: Ninja'd. Laughing

Ooh, interesting back stories to these parts of the forest.
Are they any other features with stories? I feel like I'm opening up a whole new part of the forest hearing about the "other side" of it.

The Ruin has been there since Phase One. There was only one extremely early beta-test that didn't have the ruin (but a fence around that area instead).

OOh ooh! I has questions!

1. Are you surprised with the popularity of the Endless Forest? Was it expected or unexpected?

2. What sorts of video games do you play, and whats your favorite platform?

3. Do you believe that artistic games will become a facet of the mainstream market, or just a "fad", or will it still kind of be the underdog?

4. I didn't know Auriea was from the US :O What state was she from?

5. Also lol do you think we have good ideas/concepts/suggestions?

6. Do you believe the community (forums and community site) adds or detracts from the Forest atmosphere?

7. What sort of nifty controls/effects do you guys have that are rarely seen during Abios?

8. Do you sometimes play unnamed deer and spy on us =.=

9. Any other interesting additions to the forest with a backstory? I love hearing about those things. 8D

I have a question I can't resist asking:

How do you feel about/opinions on all the myths that have been created around the Forest, most particularly the Deermuda? XD;

Unexpected. We thought we had made an weird and obscure work of art.

We'll play on any platform that has good games. So far Playstation 2 and Gamecube have given us most pleasure. Silent Hill, Fatal Frame, Ico, Animal Crossing. We had a Tekken and Soul Calibur phase at one point. I enjoyed Grand Theft Auto 3. And we both adore Black and White (PC).

Art and mainstream tend to be mutually exclusive. I hope that the interactive medium will grow as a way for making art. But they've already destroyed the web, so I'm cautious.

Originally from Indianapolis, then New York.

Yes!

Adds.

You see everything during Abiogenesis.
Our controls are just a row of pictograms at the bottom of the screen. There's also gesture input but I find it hard to use.

Yes.

The things you make up are far more interesting.

We think that's great. It's exactly how we see storytelling in games: we plant some seeds but the players grow the flowers.
