YAY!  I get some of my best inspiration from games.
And if you're worried about someone being cruel and suing you, just change insignifigant bits and peices to come out with something that's completely different on the surface, but still maintains the same undertone and message. Works for me all the time. The story itself remains the same, as does the plot, but change some names and descriptive bits and no one ever guesses what it's based off of.
Friend: [Avid WoW player] Where do you get these ideas?
Me: World of Warcraft.

There is no Kindred. There's kidred13, innocentred, tomboyred, gothred, sexyred13, and sternred.
