There was a topic like this called 'Others Like It?'. I'm starting a new one. I like animal MMORPGs like this one, The Endless Forest. Unfortunately, they aren't many. I know of Webearth Online (play as any animal), WolfQuest (comes out later, play as a wolf), Club Penguin (play as a penguin), Furcadia (create/chat as a human/animal creature), Penguin Chat (simply chat as a penguin), and Avatar Chat (chat as an alien). WolfQuest isn't out yet, and the rest of the games aren't very good... please post any other MMORPGs where you can play as animls.

I've been looking too, for many games in which you can do this, and I must agree Wolfquest looks awesome! However, I've searched high and low for another game like this, and the closest I've ever managed is a graphical role play chat.

However, looking around more and more these days, there seems to be more pay-to-play MMO's where you can be an animal/or anthropomorphic (Horizons, Everquest, etc). I'm kind of disappointed at this, as I'm one of those unfortunate people who can't afford a monthly fee to fly around as a dragon.

So, for Tale of Tales and Minnesota Zoo, I salute your work!

Same for me! Like Avatar Chat and Penguin Chat. But I did find Furcadia, Webearth Online, Club Penguin, WolfQuest and The Endless Forest. That's all though.... I agree WolfQuest will be great!!! (WHEN IT COMES OUT!!!!!! Mad) The game-makers just like watching us in total agony as they wait to release the game.

I can't afford it either. I used to wish I could, but it would just be wasting all that money... I decided I'd wait until a 3D animal MMORPG came out for free. But one hasn't come out yet, even though one company was SO, SO, SO close.... they were going to make a free3D animal MMORPG called Ecosystem, then they gave up because it was hard work. I'd gotten my hopes up so high... then when the game-makers of Ecosyste quit I punched my printer, bruising my knuckles, slammed my fist down on my keyboard, making several keys break loose (I fixed them), and kicked my monitor, making my toes throb. :X

Hear hear!

If not, I'm going to get stinking rich in the future so I can PAY someone to make a MMO for me like that!

I mean, like Wolfquest, wouldn't that be awesome!?

You could live out an entire wildlife habitat with the same basis as TEF here, no communication except socialising via sounds and such. But whilst some players take on the role of a deer in a herd, others could take on the part of the predators! Of course, it might get complicated with hunting and such, but there's a PvP implement part for the people out there who like a bit of action! I mean, sure, a deer might not stand a chance against a pack of wolves, but teamwork could allow players to co-operate their ways to victory!

And then, the RPG side of it.. You can live out your species life, just like TEF and Wolfquest, and you eventually die, and are reborn as your own offspring, etc. It would be nice to see something simple yet effective as such, with none of this "Levelling up skills" business.

as long as you get to play as a real animal.

I didn't mind anthro at first! I thought it was pretty neat.. But after realising that regular MMO's now have at LEAST one form of anthro in it, I got annoyed. What I wouldn't give to play as something like a wild horse running along the plains of America.

WolfQuest will be a fantastic game.... but I don't know if I will be able to take it. In the game you have to... hunt and kill... and I have problems with these types of games. I get so disturbed by that concept that I can't take it anymore. But I still can't wait for WolfQuest to come out!

Having been brought up around my father teaching me how to play the various Doom games, along with the Warcraft series, killing doesn't bother me one bit on other games.

At least they're not real, right?

i looked it up and after shifting through like fifty pages of animal porn i saw a game finally mentioned. it's name is ecosystem. but of course the god damned thing refuses to be found. I only know its name, and that it was released in 2006. it's supposed to be the best one out there. i just wish i could find it. there isn't a single link. but i know with the collective forum we could probably find it.

Mad Ecosystem doesn't exist. The damned fools who were going to make it let the dream die. The work was too hard so they just stopped, leaving all of us high-hoped people crushed and in the dust. Mad It's just so frustrating that they say they're going to make our dream game, then don't carry through with it.

not really. i mean its kinda like the idea of a kid being forced to kill by video games.

sure a kid plays violent video games. does it make him kill. no.
c
ertain parents argue that it makes kids think that killing is okay. which is true... if its anybody younger than 5 years old. when they get older they start to reason. and they know that killing people is wrong. if they're younger they think that what they see is true. older and they know not to. unless you failed to teach them that. in which case you've failed as a parent altogether.

it may give teach them how to kill. it may teach them the means to kill. but it will never, ever tell a kid to run out in the street and start shooting people. they have to be told by something else to do that. or want to. but honestly if they taught kids they killing was okay don't you think that they wouldn't see why there in jail. or why they feel bad. or why they should shoot themselves. see the child murderers are usually murdering because parents don't talk to them. or won't talk to them about things. so whether they know it or not. they complainers are simply just covering there asses. or they're dead....

any way what were we talking about again.

I spent DAYS looking for such a game and failed to find ANY. I didn't even find TEF until I started looking for 'non-violent MMOs' and most of the stuff I found was just graphic chat which should NOT qualify as an MMO. Glad I found TEF.

Feral MMOs so far are non-existent apart from TEF; which isn't truly an MMO due to the fact that it's not 'Massively Multi player' just 'Online Multi player' because there aren't very many people online at a time.(though it's great fun as such!)

So don't even TRY to find any. By all means, you're welcome to MAKE one! (I recommend Blender; it's completely free and comes with a game engine)

btw if anybody's interested in a good Dragon game, I haven't found any worthwhile MMOs but there is I of The Dragon.(google it yo!) I've played the demo so many times and I'm eager to buy the full version- if only I could find it in Canada!!![/i]

YAY! Laughing

I love I of the Dragon!! I wanted it for Christmas in the UK but I think it was only ever retailed in Norway or something stupid. I'm determined to buy it though! Imagine that in multiplayer!

I downloaded the demo last year and I've played it again and again and again. If you want a tip, don't complete the last mission otherwise the demo ends. Instead, I leave one monster spawn spot and go around killing the rest of the time. x3 You gain new attacks and stuff, and it's so cool!

I wish I were the ice dragon though, the demo only does fire.. Confused
