Hi there.
I thought about a Movie i watched back when i was a child and somehow it still lingers in my Mind.
its called
"The Company of Wolfs"
or in German
"Zeit der Wölfe"
I took me quite a bit to find out the titel, for i just rememberd a Quote the Storrieteller says at the end. I can't tell what its in english either. in german its "Verlier um Wölfe keine Träne, denn Wölfe haben schafe Zähne" wich would translate to "Don't shed a tear about a Wolf, cause Wolfs got sharp Teeth"
Its a Modern Farytale i think, but i also cant remember everything about it... it's bin about 20years that i wached it *giggels*

| Recently I got into my hands "The True Deceiver" by Tove Jansson (yes, the Finnish author of the Moomin children's book cycle; but this one is for adults) - the book is quite old but it was only recently translated to English (I do not read Swedish, so that was my first chance). I was a bit surprised to discover that the novel is a very interesting and highly non-obvious variation on the LRRH theme. Well, at least there is a Big Bad Wolf in it, and some Grandma's house which undergoes a radical change after the wolf encounter, and a lot of deception is involved. No more spoilers from me; in fact I suggest - if you are going to read this book - to skip a foreword until you read the novel. |

The Moomin books are very interesting for adults as well. 
But Tove Jansson is an amazing authress. Have yet to read The True Deceiver, though. |

In fact, I strongly disliked the Moomin series when I was a small kid - my parents could not understand why (and I do not remember it; a friend of mine says these books are - undercover - too sad, maybe that was it. But now I do not find them that depressing). It took me some time to really appreciate them. |

The subtitles are in Russian, the voice speaks Polish (below I give some unprofessional translation):
The title: "Czerwony Kapturek i Babushka [the last word is in Russian]" means "LRRH and Grandma".
Grandma!
Grandma, what do you need this piano for?
You don't know how to play it!
Grandma, why did you put glasses on?
You have no problems with eyes!
Grandma, why there are Russian subtitles at the bottom of the screen? You don't like Russians!
Grandma, you are somewhat different!
"Do not let yourself be eaten! Vote for the Hunter!"
Short explanation: One of the candidates, Jaroslaw Kaczynski (brother of the late Lech Kaczynski, former president of Poland) had a TV address to Russians where he wore eye-glasses and had a piano in the background (even though apparently he has no problems with eyes and he has nothing to do with piano, as was quickly brought to the public opinion by his opponents; it seems that this was a part of his creating a new, friendly - also towards Russians - personal image to hide his quite bad tempers of the past). On the other hand, his main rival, Bronislaw Komorowski was called "Gajowy" (gamekeeper, woodsman, hunter) by Kaczynski's supporters because of hunting being his hobby.
I wonder whether the creators of this spot were inspired by "The Path".  |
