Then you're not very good at killing them. Dead victims don't scream. |

That´s actually... in the middle of the process and before the beginning of the process... |

8D I love my creature so much, I'm going to make a post dedicated to them. They're called the Dohinea. Ok...
Here's how they pretty much started out.

They evolved over time...

...and eventually ended up like this.

Then the tribal stage rolled in, and at the end of it, they looked like this.

Civilization came next. I love this one the best!

MINOR SPOILER WARNING: For all you tophat lovers out there, you can get a tophat in the civilization stage.
The Dohinea are a peaceful herbivorous race. In the creature stage, all they did was go around and try to make friends with everyone. Same with the tribal stage. Civilization stage, not so much, but they did give gifts a lot to other cities. XD Space stage...well I'm still playing that right now. 8D That's about it. YAY!
Anyway, I love this game a lot. Every stage was really fun to play, even when it was frustrating. I highly recommend it! But that's just my opinion, I'll let you form your own. |

It's for PC and Mac.
It's online in a sense that you can find other players creations and such. You can't play with each other simotaneously.
For example, if someone chooses to destroy or form an alliance with your planet in their game, you can read a message of what they did but it doesn't effect your game. |

I finally made it to the galactic core with no wars or cheating. I did have to stock up on health packs and haul butt to get to the center, though. Hint: Save up your Sporebucks, buy at least ten large health packs, and get the wormhole key.
My race is called the Singing Seraph. Singing Seraphim are interstellar Shamans and have the gift of Return Ticket. They are generally peaceful and inquisitive, and when they set decide that they want to learn about something, they will pursue that end by whatever [peaceful] means necessary. They love to draw crop circles near tribal and non-space-faring civilizations and shoot aliens with their Super Happy Ray. They prefer making allies to make enemies, and the war option is the absolute last resort when diplomacy is utterly futile.
Oh, I'm Katy1 on Spore.com. |

I played for a bit and naturally guided my race of extremely fat chickadee looking bird-people to be social herbivores and pacifists. My boyfriend decided to take the opposite route and played an agressive carnivore race. We both tend to be equally good at most games, so I was somewhat disappointed that being a pacifist was innately more difficult than simply mowing everyone down who looked at you funny. I enjoy a good challenge as much as the next person, but I felt like the execution was a little off.
The game's sequences often feel like simpler versions of other games (basic RTS, repetitive simon says, MMO grind, etc), which while visually pleasing, can become easily tedious. Everything felt dwarfed by the space portion of the game, as if the earlier sequences were merely a series of fleeting steps to reach that final stage, where the "real game" is supposed to begin.
I think it's a fun game, don't get me wrong, and I really love the creature creator. It's definitely something I can play a little bit at a time, rather than in long sessions. |

I read an interesting article on Spore saying that established gamers should regard the earlier stages as merely a long character creator for the space age; that they are really there to introduce non-gamers to the basic principals of gaming (remember that Spore is aimed at a mainstream market). |
