IMMENSE WARNING.
All these ideas are awesome, but don't make the project so big and complicated you give up halfway through. |

Trinket: Actually, I did put a walking animation, and it should have worked fine, but didn't. Also, I think I won't work on it much anymore, and just get on with figuring out Blender and all.
Quote: P.S. Is there going to be plant restrictions in the final game?
I really really hope not, but I guess it's necessary to keep from lagging etc...
A thing I thought of recently was the ability to move a plant after it's full grown, so that if you plant something in the wrong place you can move it.
Like, the plant gets encircled by a lovely golden glow and it can float around then. :3
Hidden_khaos: I'm sorry, but I don't want that kind of thing in my game... To build the village, trees would have to be cut down, right?
And buying/selling/upgrading is just... not right for the idea I have in mind.
Because the game is not multiplayer, customisation is not really needed. You are telling the story of a character, not a fox-like creature that represents you. Everyone is telling the story of that one character, just in a different way each time... But you are free to alter his/her appearance to what you want in drawings and stuff. Does that make sense?
Thanks for the suggestion, though.
Quote: Or you could buy a pouch that makes you able to hold more seeds?
Once you find a kind of seed, the supply of that kind of seed is endless. ^^
Wildbluesun: Yes, I am trying to keep things relatively simple! Thanks for the warning.
I'm thinking of doing more sketches, so keep checking back... |

Your interface looks like it's going to rock hard. |

Agreed!
I like how the direction letters are symbols. :3

Just to let you all know, I'm gonna be taking a little break from this game, I'm kind of into drawing/art right now (made a new topic for my art). I'll probably come back sooner or later to this topic, this game idea isn't something I can forget quickly! |

Understandable. It's good to take a break. :3 |

I like the idea. It does remind me of The Little Prince. I hope you are able to finish it eventually. Projects like these take a long time though, so don't worry too much about getting it done right away.
Hubalaboo wrote: The above is just a rough concept, so please excuse the messiness. The roughness gives it character. I'd even like to see that style used for the actual game, in a sort of pseudo 3D with 2D art, maybe?

YOU BETTER POST THAT WHEN IT'S DONE. YES. YOU BETTER.
Hubalaboo wrote: 2D Prototype!
Just a simple little thing.
Clicky. Wow, that was quick! Good to see you moving toward prototypes and implementation.
Seeing this makes me wonder whether you've seen the Tree Story concept on Lost Garden - I think you'd find it inspiring. It also features some seed-planting gameplay. |

LOOK LOOK LOOK LOOK LOOK
UNITY!!
I FEEL LIKE EXPLODING!
This is perfect! It's way better than Torque, and it actually works with Cinema 4D! And, it's for both Mac and Windows, and looks pretty easy to work with!
Man, I am so trying it out when Midyears are over. I see the bright light of hope, people, hope for Terragreen!
See, I didn't forget about this!
