Malcolm Smith is organizing an exhibition called "Avatar" in the Australian Centre for Photography. He has asked us for 30 screenshots of Endless Forest avatars to include in a huge photo-mural at the entrance to the gallery.
So if you would like to be in the show, please post links to your images in this thread. And include your deer name, as it will be mentioned in the credit.
Deadline is Monday!
(including Monday, whatever your time zone is)
Both close-up and mid shots of avatars or ok. Shots of the deer socialising in the forest too. And if you like, drawings of your avatar, though that's not the focus of the show (I just told him that many players are very skilled artists).
Here's the technical specifications
The images will be cropped to a square format (they can do this or you can)
Ideally the images should be 20cm x 20cm (or larger) at 300dpi or at least 720 x 720 pixels. I.e.: the bigger the better (you may want to set your monitors resolution to its highest setting for the occasion)
The images will be printed in the gallery on a high quality inkjet printer.
There is no payment involved, but everyone who contributes will be acknowledged on the ACP website, in the gallery and in the exhibition roomnotes.
Don't forget to set you options to high quality animations, high Nature Detail and turn up the soft effect!
You may also want to turn on anti-aliasing on your videocard.
We will sign an agreement with the gallery that limits the use of the images. We will inform you about what is in that agreement but it's a bit difficult to make individual artist agreements for all of you, as I'm sure you can understand. However, if it's really important for you, just let us know and we can see if we can get an individual agreement. |

Ohh, yeah, this sounds cool. Just wondering, will you be getting any funding from this? It would be even cooler if you did.
I'm not sure if I want to 'enter'... Is this drawing good enough?

My deer Plumeria. I only have a drawing of her because I can't play the Endless Forest anymore (Mac user).
Or, there's this (which I like better):
http://endlessforest.org/community/place
It's a nameless deer, though, so I guess it won't work.
I want to help with this project but I'm kinda... shy? Not sure what the word is for it. I'm unsure.... |

Very nice. Keep 'em coming!
We won't get any funding from this directly. But participation may look good to organisations who can give us funding. |

I wish I could enter. I have no picutures and no method of getting one until Sunday, at which point I bet all the positions will be gone. |
