Several people have mentioned that the game crashes or freezes when they close the application.
I'd like to collect information about this problem here, in the hope to fix it.
I have experienced a crash on exit of the game once (on XP). This kind of thing tends to happen when you have had the game running for a while. Was this the case for the people who experienced the crashes?
And also, does it always crash when you quit? |

First off, I commend Tale of Tales on developing such a unique and refreshing gaming experience (thanks!). I had played the demo (on Mac OS X) about a year ago when it first came out but only bought the full version yesterday.
I have been experiencing the same problem as some other people here where upon attempting to quit the game, it will stall for several seconds before crashing (and generating a Windows error message). This did not happen when quitting the demo on Steam. However, I bought the full version from the Tale of Tales website.
System specs:
Vista x64 SP1
AMD Phenom II X4 940
ATI Radeon HD 4850
Also, whenever the woman dies, I am not presented with any options to start a new game or quit. Only after I exit and crash the program and restart it, does it pick up with the woman dead and giving me a "New Game" option.
At first, I thought it was perhaps an interesting artistic decision to just leave me hanging after she died and then a bit of developers' mischief to not allow me to escape this state of death without some kind of error (thereby commenting on the very real and permanent quality of death). However, the same crash on exit happened when I successfully exited the graveyard (I did get options to quit or restart though), and that just killed my "meaningful intentional bug" theory |

Occam's Razor, sort of...
I set The Graveyard to run in XP SP2 compatibility mode, and it no longer crashes on exit. Maybe it is a 64-bit Vista issue? Although, there is still no way to quit the game from within the game after she dies. Although that might be on purpose... |

That's on purpose.
Except for the crashing. |

It "crashes" for me too in XP SP3 (launched from Steam).
When the Lady dies, I let it run for a while. I don't see any way to exit
so I have to Task Manager -> End Task and I get a "Not Responding" error.
(Am I doing it wrong?) |

Nope, you're doing it just as was intended. There's no built-in way to exit once she drops. |

My problem seems similar to the ones on this bug. Launch it again, but still not reproducible. I'm running Windows 7 Starter.

| After a crash FS disables background effects in the game and menus. You can re-enable them by going to settings and unchecking 'Disable in-game backgrounds' and 'Disable menu background'. |

| I guess our little cleverness isn't completely compatible with Steam. Sorry about that. |
