I made a game! _dRive - it's for the latest JIG contest.
It's a game about derivatives - controlling position, velocity, and acceleration at the same time - and also about interactive music. Somewhat experimental, vaguely educational.
Create your own glitch music in this experimental dodging game. Collect points to upgrade your tracks and control up to three ships at once!
Details on my blog.
You can play it online at a few different sites:
_dRive on Jay is Games (official contest page)
_dRive on Newgrounds (no ads)
_dRive on Kongregate (stats)
_dRive on Nonoba (stats and badges!)
If you like it, please rate the game (no registration required on Newgrounds) and if you know anyone else who you think would like it, please tell them about it too. There's a prize for the game with the most hits.
Feedback welcome. |

It does take a while to get the hang of, yes. |

Well, you know me, I don't. I'm not a gamer like that.
But I like the crazy atmosphere it creates. Playing three games with a single controller.Sounds like something jodi would do.
And I like the manipulation of the music as you play. Maybe you can go even further in that, so perhaps the player can feel like a DJ, scratching records? |

When I came up with the idea, I didn't know whether it would be particularly fun, but I did know that it would be a crazy, unique sort of experience. Some people find it fun - that's good enough at the moment.
I think expanding on the music manipulation would be a great idea. There have been a couple nice music suggestions in this thread on NG. |
