| Hello, my fawn, Effin, is three days old. And still a bit clunky on her feet. But I'd like to take some pictures of her early days... and pressing 'p' doesn't seem to do it. What am I doing wrong? Help! Thanks. |

| If you have Vista that may be part of the problem. I have Vista and taking screenshots using P doesn't work. |

I have Vista as well and taking screenshots does work - it just doesn't look like that at first. Here's what you do:
1. Open The Endless Forest 3/screenshots It'll look empty.
2. Click on...I think the correct translation is "compatibility files", but I'm not sure (Sorry, everything's in Swedish on my computer). Compatability something at least. This button should be located right over the open map, right under "Archieve", "Tools" and so on.
3. The screenshots should show up now. They might be odd file-types though. If so, double-click on them. They should open in a window where you can choose to open them in Paint or a similar program. When you've done that you can save the screenshot as any kind of picture type you want to.
Hope that made sense! |

| I've tried that, but after clicking Compatibility Files (which doesn't appear when you're viewing the folder itself-- it does show if you go to the main TEF folder) it doesn't show my screenshots folder. |

Thanks for the tip, Nonesane.
Bellamy, if you can't make it work and you're afraid to miss your deer's baby steps, you can also make screenshots with Fraps. It's quite convenient. And it grabs video too.
Since we don't have a Vista machine ourselves, I'm afraid you'll need to rely on the help of other Vista users here. |

Hmm, I don't know why that is. What I do atep-by-step is this:
1. I open Start/All Programs/The Endless Forest 3/screenshots
2. The map opens and is empty. I press "Compatability Files" (next to "Arrange" and "Show") I can see my pictures.
The pictures disappear again when I close and reopen the screenshots map, unless I first have opened them in ex: Paint and saved them elsewhere. If they disappear I just press "Compatability Files" and they show up again.
I have no idea why this doesn't work for you, sorry
