I sort of pinpointed the problem...
I run the Endless Forest at 1024 x 768 but my desktop at 1152 x 864.
This problem only happens if it starts as a screensaver, and my desktop is 1152 x 864.
I tried just running the launcher with my resolution at 1152 x 864, and it exited fine.
I tried running the screensaver with my resolution at 1024 x 768, and it exited fine.
I don't know if this actually solved the problem. Maybe the swap file was just being created correctly when I tested it.
But, if this is the problem, it would seem that it is having trouble changing back to my desktop resolution when it exits, and it is not the swap file problem. |

Interesting. Weird. I do this all the time without any problems.
Do you happen to have a dual screen setup? |

I've been testing it, and this appears to be the problem.
I do have a dual-screen setup... but it's only running one monitor right now. It was working perfect when I had two hooked up before. |

When the screensaver finds a dual monitor setup at startup, it will actually play in a borderless window of the same size as the resolution of your primary monitor. This is a workaround for problems we encountered with running the game full screen on some dual monitor systems.
So, on a dual monitor system, you can only change the resolution really when you run the game with the launcher. |

| So, if I understand you correctly, when launched as a screensaver, it will run in a 1152x864 window, but at 1024x768 resolution. |

| No, it will run in a 1152x864 window without changing the resolution. |

| But when I go to my settings within the game, it tells me that it is running at 1024x768, no matter what the resolution of my desktop is. |

Maybe it's lying?
Can you change the resolution when you're running the screensaver? |

Odd that you can't go higher. Normally the application should show you all resolutions that your graphics card is capable of. What card is that again?
If the screensaver runs in a borderless window because of a multiple monitor setup, you can't change the resolution. So it's safe to assume that on your system, it's running truly fullscreen.
I just tried the same experiment on my dual monitor Radeon 9800 system. Second monitor disabled, (CRT) screen at 1152x864, game running at 1024x768. I do get all the resolution options and I can run it at any resolution. No problem whatsoever. |

Sorry for not responding quicker. Everything has worked fine since you mentioned fixing the problem.
EDT: Also, I just noticed that the deer are translucent. Is this supossed to be this way, or is it my graphics card?

I'm using a radeon 9600 all-in-wonder, CRT on for the first monitor, no second monitor.
It has been running pretty much perfectly, as long as I keep my desktop at 1024x768. |

Roadkill, we have had a few versions with the deer becoming translucent at night. But this should not be the case in the latest version (final release 1.0). I suggest you upgrade.
Shaeffer, do you always have this "screensaver-long-exit-time" problem when you're running at a different resolution? |

| Doesn't look like it's night anymore so I'll have to wait to find out. I installed the new versions, but woudn't the streamer have done this for me? |

| Yes, the streaming version should have contained the update. |
