What's your favorite soundtrack from any game? It doesn't have to be any specific genre.

Personally, I'd have to go with "Still Alive" http://www.playlist.com/playlist/additem/355553553 from Portal, that song was great. Smile

also, mods, if this is the wrong category, please move this.

The path, none the less... I just love how everything fits in, and how the songs change, just at the right moment. Also the music gives 80%of the atmosphere in the game, the text 10% and the graphics 10%. If the music was not there, i wouldnt have loved the game as much as i do. ^^

I'm a big fan of soundtracks and am always delighted to see a free soundtrack made available on a developer's website, or at least included in the collector's edition.

My favourite... yes, I think it would be the soundtrack for Dear Esther (an experimental voice-over and environment based Half-Life 2 mod by thechineseroom). It's wonderfully pensive and haunting, shot through with crystallised memory and half-imagined echoes.

One of my favorites is actually the Halo 1 theme. It's pretty intense, and brings back good memories. Ah, nostalgia Smile

American Mcgee's Alice by Chris Vrenna. (I just love Chris Vrenna's music. And the way he scored and recorded this soundtrack with music boxes and little things like that, adding childish and chilling sounds... it's hard to describre music, so.. it's a perfect match for this game, that's all. ^^ )

More recently, the soundtrack of Eufloria kinda striked me... it fits the gameplay, the actual feeling of the game so.... smoothly, great ambient/ambience for this game, another perfect match.. I dunno if they name it an ambient name cause the soundtrack is so important to the game, or if it's something else...)

As I'm quite fond of soundtracks, I'm sure I could find more. But that's the first two that comes to mind now without thinking further.
