The game froze entirely at around...3:30-4am US Eastern Time. I logged out before I went back to bed, but I can't log into the game anymore.

There is no error message that comes up, it just keeps trying to connect, along with the "37 players online" message. It seems that everyone is having this problem =/

Our webserver had been down. Which means logging in was impossible. It was back up at 9h45 this morning (Belgium).

The server appears to be down again. The circle is red in the left corner, and no one can connect. I don't know how long it's been like this, but I started trying to get on about an hour ago (2 PM CTL), and still nothing.

Thank you for letting us know!
We had neglected to restart it for a couple of days and it had crashed.

It's up and running again now.

Lose not hope, the server appears to be functioning within normal parameters. If you look at the map, here: http://endlessforest.org/community/current-map-forest you will note that several elaphs are awake and moving. I was on a few hours ago and I was on yersterday. The problem might be at your end.

I've done everything I was told to do to fix the problem...including reinstalling it, restarting the computer, checking the firewall which isn't even on, and checking files. I don't understand!

It could be a bandwidth problem -- try connecting at times of the day when few people are on the internet.

Since you show as a no-name, maybe check to see that the game is trying to connect with your correct (registered) username and password. After you've started the game, after the openning credits have finished and the control panel had risen from the bottom, click on the dot at the lower left hand corner (it can be red, yellow or green depending on whether you are not connected, somewhat connected or connected). Click on that dot and a menu will appear (and music will play). In the menu find the connection dialog and verify that it is trying to connect with your (registered) username. If I remember correctly, the username is case sensitive: it has to be written the same way as you registered it. Hope is not the same as hope is not the same as hOpe is not the same as hoPe is not the same as HOPe is not the same as hopE and so on.

That's a bit of a long shot since even as an unregistered (noname) player you would see other players. What colour is the dot in the lower left hand corner? You want it to be green.

You might not be waiting long enough. Most of the time I have to wait a minute before the game fully loads and the rest of the elaphs appear. Before that happens, I regain the appearance I had last time I quit, but the Forest is empty. Sometimes I have to quit and come back before it works. So, try, try again, and wait a few minutes each time.

What colour is that dot? Red, yellow or green? Is your registered username spelled correctly?

The dot is red. And when I click on Network to login, there is no place to type in my username and password. And I wait for a time cuz I run around the forest taking pictures of all sorts. It never starts up. It doesn't say Connecting or anything like that. I try try and try by restarting the game, but still the same. I don't understand how I can be on it one night, then a few hours later in the morning not be able to prance around with the other deer. Always alone. I've tried reinstalling it and everything. I just don't understand...

Is Internet Explorer set to "work offline"? This can keep the Forest from connecting.

This query would be better served in the "Forest problems and bugs" section. The server is online and fine.

A red dot means your game is not reaching the server. It seems that it is being blocked, either by your firewall or possibly by Internet Explorer being set to "work offline". Another thing to try is to right-click the game and choose "run as administrator". Other programs running in the background, such as IM, might keep you from connecting as well.

It would be helpful if the FAQ in the "Forest Problem and bugs" section would include solutions to "Dot is red, player has no name and no one else is in Forest". I can't remember all the causes and all the solutions.
