when you register we encourage you to type in a url to a user picture [we like that] (& you can always change it later)
HTML is enabled in the forums and you can post images (mmm... images) as well as texts but, you know, use restraint when it comes to file size.

I was just wondering if there is a different way besides posting a URL. On other forums or something you can browse your computer for an image. My image is for my computer. Do I need to post it on the internet because I don't know how. Please explain.  |

That's easy enough; create an account on Photobucket (photobucket.com), which allows you to upload images from your computer to their website. Then you get a web link which you can use to link to your avatar.
My own avatar's hosted there, and it's been very reliable and user-friendly to me over the years. |

Actually, Tinypic is easier to use, and has NO account. So, it's very simple. Don't bother with photobucket. >.< |
