Interesting.

I really do not know what to think. There is a couple of things I completely disagree with in there. Wii changing things? Perhaps it's the view of a hardcore gamer, but I don't think the market he wants to develop is going to come from the Wii's impression. And gameplay (or interaction) last I really disagree with, but that's much more subjective, and I even enjoy experiements where narrative comes first.

And there's also a couple of things I really like. Just for one was the mention of The Sims, it's really one of the most amazing games created. Deserves the reception it recieves too.

And the irony:
Just the other day, I was talking with an aquaintence of mine, exchanging breif descriptions of our favorite games, and how we are both "Games-are-art hippies." (Granted, I am far more of a gamer than she)
She then said "Alice with a butcher knife," and I was very alarmed by something that sounded rather crude, and I retreated to a far more gentile topic: The Endless Forest, a game I described as "a game where you play as a deer, and just frolic in a looping forest." We then attempted to explain to each other that the games both are far deeper and more phycological than the initial sentence used to describe them.

Then I find this while researching "Alice."

Great interview, thank you for this. Love to hear someone talk about putting the narrative aspect so high on the priority list, I couldn't agree more.
On another note, just got to know this site. It's a releif to see someone from Belgium involved in doing the things you are doing. Really interested in sitting down with you one day to have a talk.
